Nipomo California Native Natalie Haskins began her musical journey in a studio apartment alongside the train tracks in Needles, CA, discovering her love for singing, writing, and playing guitar.
Natalie began her journey playing her original songs at bars and coffee shops in Arizona, as well as clubs in Laughlin and Las Vegas. After coming back home to the Central Coast, she spread her wings in California, playing shows with Micky and the Motorcars, Robert Earl Keen, Dave Alvin, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Shooter Jennings, Reckless Kelly, Jason Eady, Hayes Carll and Cody Canada & the Departed. Along with performing solo, she is a member of San Luis based Red-Dirt group The Bob Lawrence Band, along with her two brothers Bob and Warren Haskins, and friends Benji Cheadle and Anthony Thayer.
Natalie draws influences from Bonnie Raitt, Patty Griffin, Grace Potter, Lucinda Williams and Robert Earl Keen. Natalie blends her mix of poetic lyric-driven songs with her unique style of country, folk and blues to create her own distinct style. Once you hear her, you won't soon forget her voice.
Jonathan ClarkeBorn and raised the son of a bluegrass musician in the Great Pacific
Northwest, Jonathan Clarke has been surrounded by Traditional American
Folk music his whole life. Taking what he learned from his youth he has
become a poignant singer/songwriter in his own right. Having recorded
numerous records in several different incarnations, Jon has performed
from Seattle to Los Angeles, and from SLO to Europe.
A few years back Jon played in San Luis own Red Eye Junction and toured with them all over until moving on to continue a higher education. While in the band, he opened for Robert Earl Keen, Truth and Savage Co., Dave Gleason, Mike Stinson, and many others.
In 2009 his song Home Ain't So Sweet won 1st place at the SLO New Times Music Awards where Red Eye also won 2nd place for best new band. Most recently Jon has been working on his freshman solo effort aptly titled Songs to Travel By due out in early April 2012. According to Jon, This record Includes many of my favorite musicians on the Central Coast of California. Natalie Haskins, Koenig, Bob Hamilton, and Wyatt Lund, just to name a few. It has had the feel of a family effort and man that's what makes it so truly enjoyable and fulfilling. Hopefully folks will enjoy these songs as much as we have enjoyed recording them. Look for Jon to be out and about playing with these fine musicians in one form or another.
Joe KoenigIf you organize Joe’s songs in the right order, you’d know the story of his life. Reflective lyrics and minimalist, stripped-down music define his soulful mastery. Driven by the intensity and turbulence of life events, Joe’s music shares a story guaranteed to make you feel. Born Leslie Joe Koenig II in Houston, Texas, Joe was quickly learning the delinquent makings of a city kid before his dad swept him away to the rolling green hills of Concrete, Texas. Growing up on a farm, Joe learned passion and hard work from “solid gold” Leslie the First, who was always supportive of his son’s artistic endeavors; from tearing a panel of sheetrock off a jobsite wall to preserve Joe’s playful doodles, to lining up a gig at Hocheim Baptist Church every Sunday. Following the example set by his older brother Karl, talent and hard work earned Joe a scholarship to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a new home on the Central Coast of California.
Joe Koenig’s musical endeavors began in late 1999 when he and his college roommates formed the rock band TORSION. In 2000 they released their first EP and amassed a cult following in San Luis Obispo. After a Texas Tour, three albums and a name change to SNAPHOOK, the group called it quits in 2004. In his hard rock days, Joe shared the stage with such bands as OZOMATLI, SUGARCULT, BUCKCHERRY, ELECTRACY, JOHNNY RAMONE and UNIDA.
Aching to fulfill his dream of producing his very own solo album, Joe joined the Central Coast music once again, but this time on his own terms. In 2006 Joe began performing his solo acoustic set everywhere from San Luis Obispo, California to Goliad, Texas and has since shared the stage with ROBERT EARL KEEN JR., HAYES CARLL, TODD SNIDER, ELIOT MORRIS, LARRY JOE TAYLOR, TOMMY ELSKES, BOB SCHNEIDER, DIRTY MARTINI and the legendary LEON RUSSELL.
